Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leo Stout (ranked 6164 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roddy Piper (ranked 5762 p4p, 0 weight class). Piper has chosen Roddy entrance as his entrance music. Roddy Piper has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leo Stout!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Roddy Piper!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stout fails in his attempt to clinch.
Piper shoots for a double leg takedown but Stout sprawls well. He's pushed Piper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A little feinted left hand from Stout on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Stout is looking to clinch.
Piper swats away the attempt to clinch by Stout.
Stout tries to clinch up but Piper circles away and keeps his distance.
Piper should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Stout fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Piper, pushing him back against the cage.
Stout tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stout is trying to stall.
Stout is trying to break free.
Stout tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Piper just stands there and leans against the cage.

Stout is trying to stall.
Piper is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Stout pulls guard successfully.
Stout trying to strike off his back.
Stout doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Piper's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Piper trying to control the position from guard on top but Stout is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Piper is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Stout trying to control the position.
Piper wants to control from the top but Stout keeps moving.
Stout is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Stout seems to be working for a kimura but Piper defends the submission attempt.

Stout throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Stout is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Piper moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stout throws a big right hand that misses.
Piper wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Stout is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Stout sets himself, and Piper steps forward looking for the clinch! Stout avoids it this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Piper shoots in for a takedown but Stout shows good takedown defense.
Stout seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Leo Stout has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roddy Piper.

Stout tries to sprawl but Piper drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Piper has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.

and Piper counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Stout on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


It looks like Leo Stout has been cut.
Stout moves in looking to clinch but Piper pushes him off.
Piper unleashes a big counter combination but Stout bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

and Piper counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stout won't be happy with that.

Stout throws Piper to one side and escapes!
Leo Stout seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Piper fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Piper circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stout is looking to clinch.
Stout tries to clinch there but Piper circles away.

Piper pulls guard successfully.
Leo Stout overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stout accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Stout throws a strike but Piper rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Piper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Stout has his foot on Piper's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Piper works his way back into a safe position though.

Stout had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Piper defends it easily.
Piper works over Stout with some ground and pound from guard.
Piper is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Stout will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Piper with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Stout pushes Piper off and gets back to his feet.
Piper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stout sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Piper somewhat.

Piper throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Piper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stout as he jumps to the side.
Stout checks a leg kick.
Piper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Piper circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stout takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Piper shoots for a double leg takedown but Stout sprawls well. He's pushed Piper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Stout looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Piper steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Stout.
Stout slaps away a takedown attempt from Piper, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Piper avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Piper goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Stout is on top in guard.
Stout keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Piper's head.

Piper tries to bum rush Stout with a series of wild strikes but Stout uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Stout is trying to pull guard but Piper turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Stout tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Piper just stands there and leans against the cage.

Piper lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Stout pushes Piper off but Piper dives into side control.

Piper looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Stout wants to control but Piper postures up.

Stout wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Piper has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Stout's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Stout is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Piper!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Roddy Piper!
Roddy Piper bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
