Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carroll Daugherty (ranked 5802 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Rude (ranked 6208 p4p, 586 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rude feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Daughertys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Daugherty doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rude counters with a stiff right hand.
The crowd cheers as Rude lands an impressive looking overhand right. Daugherty doesn't seem phased though.
Rude misses with a double jab.
Daugherty seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Rude lands a really nice looking cross but Daugherty seems unphased.
Rude lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Daugherty takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Rude misses with a wild combination.
Rude thuds a left hand into Daugherty's body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rude has taken the fight to the clinch.

Daugherty jumps guard and drags Rude to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Daugherty will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Daugherty escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rude gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Daugherty is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rude defends well.
Daugherty bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rude's guard.

Daugherty with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Rude manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Daugherty manages to get himself to full guard.

Rude really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daugherty. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rude trying to control but Daugherty is working from the bottom.
Daugherty lands a couple of shots from the bottom.

Daugherty looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Daugherty has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Rude doesn't defend quickly enough and Daugherty has managed to lock this one up! Can Rude escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Daugherty on a fantastic submission victory.
