PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chung Bailey (ranked 24785 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Lopez (ranked 6246 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hypnotize kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chung Bailey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez misses with a two punch combination.
Lopez shoots for a double leg takedown but Bailey sprawls well. He's pushed Lopez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bailey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Lopez darts in and clinches Bailey up against the cage.
Lopez is pressed up against the cage. Bailey has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lopez down to the mat. Lopez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Bailey shoots for a double leg takedown but Lopez sprawls well. He's pushed Bailey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Lopez shoots in looking for a takedown. Bailey tries to sprawl out of it but Lopez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bailey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A quick step to the side and Bailey tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
David Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lopez has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Bailey is on him like a limpet, forcing Lopez back against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bailey jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lopez walks away with a smile on his face. Bailey gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lopez is trying to push Bailey away but Bailey has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Lopez has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Bailey is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

David Lopez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

David Lopez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
