Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Tasker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yoel Romero!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tasker gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Tasker swings for the body but Romero moves out of range.
Tasker fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Romero is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Romero displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tasker.
Tasker throws a nice looking combination but Romero bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Romero keeps the fight on the outside.
Romero tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Romero connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tasker's hands.
Romero shoots for a takedown but Tasker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Tasker throws a right hand that Romero ducks under and follows up with a left that Romero also avoids with ease.
Tasker throws a right and a left that both miss.
Romero misses with a straight right.
Tasker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Tasker fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Tasker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tasker moves out of range of the strikes.
Tasker tries to clinch but Romero is having none of it.
Romero goes for a double leg but Tasker avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tasker continues to drive forward.

Tasker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Romero fails to pull guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tasker blocks an elbow strike from Romero.
Romero jumps guard but Tasker turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Tasker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Romero smiles and moves away.
Romero shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tasker as he avoids it easily.

Tasker closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Romero quickly recovers to half guard.
Tasker is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Romero!
Romero tries to hold on but Tasker pushes him away.
Tasker sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Tasker throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Romero has his hands clasped together but Tasker breaks the hold and Romero is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Tasker!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dan Tasker!
Dan Tasker managed to slip a mention for his sponsors, Freebok (85% Laundry), into his post fight interview.
In defeat, Yoel Romero stepped up to the mic, saying 'He is good fighter. I wish him luck!'.
