Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Larsen (ranked 6270 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demri Smith (ranked 8134 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Smith.

It looks like Justin Larsen has been cut.
Larsen blocks a head kick by Smith.
Larsen half committed to a counter leg kick.

Smith drops Larsen with a beautiful combination! Larsen stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Smith is looking for the KO!
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smith closes the distance and pushes Larsen back into the cage.

Larsen has hold of one of Smith's legs. Smith is fighting the takedown attempt but Larsen gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Smith wants to get back to his feet but Larsen passes into half guard.

Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Larsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smith has hold of Larsen's hands but Larsen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Smith is trying to stand up here but Larsen is controlling him well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Larsen connects with a nice short shot to Smith's temple.

Larsen is nestled in close to Smith, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
