Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Greg Lupul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Durrant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lupul comes into the arena with Strangled With A Halo, Pig Destroyer blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durrant closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lupul circles away.

Durrant drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lupul looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lupul looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lupul!

Lupul has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
A head kick from Lupul lands but Durrant takes it in his stride.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Durrant will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Durrant changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lupul tries to avoid it but Durrant manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lupul to the ground. Lupul escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No joy there for Durrant, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
David Durrant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lupul tries to close the distance and clinch but Durrant swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
