Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Royce Silva (ranked 2696 p4p, 270 weight class) and Zero Chance (ranked 3949 p4p, 352 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Royce Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zero Chance!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chance throws a nice head kick!
Silva misses with a looping right.
Chance staying out of range there.
Zero Chance seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chance uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Silva has time to react.
Silva avoids the head kick by Chance.
Silva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Silva throws a looping overhand right but Chance ducks down to avoid it.
Chance throws a nice head kick!
Silva throws a big shot that misses.
Chance looks for the body kick but Silva saw that one coming.
Silva misses with a combination
and Chance cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Chance steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Silva.
Chance throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Chance moves out of range of the strikes.

Chance throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Chance has taken the fight to the clinch.

Chance escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick by Chance misses
and Chance takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Silva has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Red Tri-Angle Gym. 15 Coaches/13 Elite in the buildup to the fight.
Chance tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A quick step to the side and Silva tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Chance has managed to clinch.

Chance manages to pull guard.
Silva prevents Chance from getting back to his feet.
Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chance pulls Silva in to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Chance has wrist control.
Silva is fighting to break Chance's control of his arms but Chance is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva passes Chance's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Chance keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Chance is looking to escape.
Silva prevents Chance from improving his position.

Chance trying to hold on to Silva's head to control him but Silva postures up.
Chance tries to kick Silva off but Silva keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Silva is pressing down on Chance's thigh, looking to free his foot. Chance is holding on for now.
Chance taking some punishment here, with Silva in his half guard.
Silva is trying to control. Chance wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chance can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Chance blocking the ground and pound attempt from Silva.

Silva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Silva is working for a submission of some sort.
Silva wants to control but Chance is keeping him busy.
Chance felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Chance tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg.
Silva trying to control the action but Chance is working from the bottom.

Silva is working for a kimura but Chance is defending it quite comfortably.
Chance is looking to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chance is positioning himself well to prevent Silva advancing to mount.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Chance tries to land a front kick but Silva steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A little feinted left hand from Silva on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Chance throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silva looks to land a left hand but Chance moved out of range nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zero Chance dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Chance tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Chance works over Silva's head and body with a nice combination.
Chance leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Silva shoots in but Chance avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Chance gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Chance with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Chance lands a nice knee to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chance lands a body punch in the clinch.

Chance manages to break the clinch.
Zero Chance seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Silva swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Chance throws a nice looking combination but Silva bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chance tries to clinch up.

Silva throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Silva takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royce Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chance pinned against the cage. Chance gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chance fakes the leg kick and cracks Silva in the body.
Silva misses with a wild body shot.

Chance clinches up against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Chance - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chance tries to pull guard but Silva won't allow it.
Silva tries for a takedown. No joy.
Chance prevents the takedown attempt.
A nice left hand lands by Chance.
Chance crunches a lovely knee into Silva's ribcage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A right handed body shot lands from Chance.
Chance lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Silva backwards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Chance breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chance dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Chance throws a nice head kick!
Chance throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Chance rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Chance works on Silva's body with a couple of short punches.
Chance crunches a lovely knee into Silva's ribcage.
Silva takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Royce Silva has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A short left from Chance.

Chance's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Chance drops Silva with a beautiful combination! Silva stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Chance is looking for the KO!


Silva is rocked!

Chance closes the distance and clinches.
Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Chance gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Chance lands a body punch in the clinch.
Chance utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Silva seems to have got his legs back now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Chance looking to throw knees to the head but Silva is blocking nicely.

Chance pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Chance gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Chance has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Silva looking for a takedown.

Chance breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chance looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.
Silva is looking to counter punch.
Chance scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Chance closes the distance and pushes Silva back into the cage.
Chance scores with a shot to the side of Silva's head.
Chance lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Silva.
Chance pushes Silva back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Chance pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
