PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Denis Prager (ranked 2007 p4p, 271 weight class) and Uncle Acid (ranked 2532 p4p, 326 weight class). Uncle Acid will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Denis Prager!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Uncle Acid!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Prager scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Prager slows the pace down.
Prager cracks Acid with a big right hand but Acid just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Acid is being controlled here.
Prager seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Acid for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
You can see the frustration on Acid's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Prager's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Prager looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Acid with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Acid holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Prager is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Prager is looking to take a break and control but Acid is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Prager tries to pass the half guard into mount. Acid knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Prager looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Acid is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Prager looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Acid with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Denis Prager overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Acid is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Prager asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Acid managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Prager.
Prager working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Acid takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Acid cracks Prager with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Prager falls to his knees and Acid doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
