Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shin Ichi (ranked 3293 p4p, 166 weight class) and Kurt Verygood (ranked 2577 p4p, 126 weight class). Verygood has chosen Bring Pain as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Verygood.
Ichi walks into a left hand.

Ichi tries to counter by clinching up but Verygood breaks away and moves out of range.
Ichi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Verygood connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ichi scrambles back to his feet.

Ichi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Verygood manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It seemed like Verygood was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Verygood is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ichi had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Ichi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Verygood defends well and Ichi ends up having to push Verygood into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
