Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Knob (ranked 6372 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scotty Towns (ranked 6405 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Towns tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Knob shoots in for a takedown but Towns shows good takedown defense.
Towns throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Knob.
Towns fails in his attempt to clinch.
Towns looks for a takedown but Knob sprawls well.

Towns rushes Knob and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

and Towns counters with a nice low kick that buckles Knob's knee momentarily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Knob is defended easily by Towns.

Knob pivots, looking for a leg kick but Towns is out of range and Knob settles back down.

Knob goes for a double leg but Towns avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Towns continues to drive forward.

Towns shoots for a double leg takedown but Knob sprawls well. He's pushed Towns's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Knob tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Towns defends well and Knob ends up having to push Towns into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Bob Knob will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Towns got a little sloppy there for a moment and Knob has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Towns has managed to get both his arms back between Knob's legs - danger averted.

Knob jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Towns walks away with a smile on his face. Knob gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Towns seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Knob does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Towns content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bob Knob.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Knob, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
