Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Welder (ranked 9102 p4p, 249 weight class) and Fiachra MacNeill (ranked 22944 p4p, 267 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doug Welder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fiachra MacNeill!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welder swats away the attempt to clinch by MacNeill.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from MacNeill.
Welder stuffs the takedown.

Welder has managed to clinch.

Welder gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
MacNeill pulls Welder in close to prevent any damage.
Welder is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at 3Band MMA ($500/week) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Welder controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
MacNeill is looking to stand up but Welder isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Welder's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
MacNeill should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Welder postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Welder controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Welder shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. MacNeill defends it nicely.
Welder shoots in but no luck this time.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

MacNeill closes the distance and pushes Welder back into the cage.

MacNeill is pushing Welder's head away, looking to escape. Welder manages to hold on to the position though.
A big shot lands for Welder! That's hurt MacNeill! Will he recover? Welder fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
