Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hard throws a hook but Hampton avoids it easily.
Hampton wants to clinch
enabling Hard to counter with a crisp jab.

Hampton shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hard is trying to defend but Hampton finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Hampton is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hard sees it coming and defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hampton seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Hampton takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hard is looking to control Hampton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hard avoid being mounted?

Hampton stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Hard comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hampton pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hard looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Hampton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hard sprawls well initially but Hampton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hampton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Hard keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Hampton seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hampton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hard is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Hampton takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hard throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Hampton darts in and clinches Hard up against the cage.
Hard is looking to break free of the clinch but Hampton has double underhooks.
Hampton tries to work over Hard's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hampton is working for takedown but Hard is calmly controlling the position for now.
Hampton tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hard just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hampton tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gerald Hampton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hard tries to work over Hampton's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Hampton wanted to stand there but Hard had control of the position.

Hard bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hampton's guard.

Gerald Hampton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hampton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hard defends it easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hampton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hard has managed to get both his arms back between Hampton's legs - danger averted.
Hampton pulls Hard in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hampton has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Hard should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Hampton has tightened it up now! Hard should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
