Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Mikhailov (ranked 1783 p4p, 263 weight class) and Takeda Shingen (ranked 1924 p4p, 276 weight class). Shingen has chosen Swarrrm - Scilence as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexei Mikhailov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takeda Shingen!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shingen lands a nice shot to the body.
Mikhailov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shingen was well out of range. Poor timing from Mikhailov.
Shingen with a jab.
Mikhailov takes a jab right on the kisser.
Shingen moves out of range of the leg kick from Mikhailov.
Mikhailov keeps the fight on the outside.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mikhailov. Shingen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Shingen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mikhailov drops down looking for a counter takedown but Shingen sprawls and moves away.
Mikhailov moves forwards but Shingen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Mikhailov misses with a body shot.
A nice side step and Shingen releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Shingen moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shingen throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mikhailov on the side of the head.
Shingen ducks under a wild hook from Mikhailov.
Mikhailov needs to keep his hands up - Shingen had a free shot at his head there.

Shingen has closed the distance and engaged Mikhailov in a clinch.

Shingen lands a body shot in the clinch.
Shingen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Shingen stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
We've been informed that Shingen has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Mikhailov is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Shingen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Shingen lands a body shot.
Mikhailov is breathing heavily.
Shingen misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A body shot lands from Shingen.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Shingen.
Shingen throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
I was talking to Mikhailov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Shingen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Mikhailov backwards.
A short right from Shingen on the inside.
Shingen lands a nice uppercut.
Still in the clinch, Shingen scores with a nice short uppercut.


Mikhailov is rocked!

Oh Mikhailov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Shingen is working Mikhailov over against the cage.
Shingen misses with a body punch.
Shingen lands a hook that snaps the head of Mikhailov backwards.
Mikhailov fails to pull guard.
Mikhailov seems to have got his legs back now.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Shingen.
Shingen working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Shingen works on Mikhailov's body with a couple of short punches.

Shingen lands a big right hand that sends Mikhailov to the canvas! This could be the beginning of the end for Mikhailov!

Shingen is trying to work for a kimura but Mikhailov is defending well.
Shingen winds up and cracks Mikhailov with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shingen drops an elbow to the side of Mikhailov's head.
Shingen controlling the pace.
Shingen throws a strike but Mikhailov avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Shingen passes Mikhailov's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Mikhailov tries to roll over but Shingen keeps him under control.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mikhailov trying to control from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shingen working over Mikhailov with some ground and pound. Mikhailov looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shingen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Shingen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shingen prevents Mikhailov from improving his position.

Shingen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Shingen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mikhailov sees it coming and defends easily.
Shingen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takeda Shingen dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Shingen looks to land a right hand but Mikhailov moved out of range.
Shingen lands a head shot.
Mikhailov misses with a hook to the body
enabling Shingen to counter with a crisp jab.
Shingen lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Shingen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mikhailov shoots in but no luck this time.
Shingen lands with a nice body punch.
Shingen cracks Mikhailov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Shingen misses the shot to the body.
Mikhailov tries to counter with a takedown but Shingen is quick to defend against it.
Shingen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Shingen lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Good work by Shingen as he checks the leg kick.
Mikhailov shoots for a double leg takedown but Shingen sprawls well. He's pushed Mikhailov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shingen lands with a nice body punch.
Mikhailov throws a right hand that Shingen ducks under and follows up with a left that Shingen also avoids with ease.
Shingen fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Mikhailov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Shingen now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shingen dips to his left and cracks Mikhailov with an uppercut!
Mikhailov walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Shingen swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Takeda Shingen!
Takeda Shingen gave a mention to Mockstar Energy Drinks 160Q in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
