Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Gonzales (ranked 2666 p4p, 328 weight class) and Justin White (ranked 2623 p4p, 325 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Gonzales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Justin White!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jorge Garcia and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales throws a jab when White was well out of range.
White fails with the takedown.
White checks a leg kick.
White bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
White fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
White ducks under a wild hook from Gonzales.

Gonzales has closed the distance and engaged White in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
White stalling in the clinch but Gonzales improves position.

White is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gonzales is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've been hearing good reports from Gonzales's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
White working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
