The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esquire tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lucania defends well and Esquire ends up having to push Lucania into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Esquire throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lucania tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Esquire is in Lucania's guard.
Esquire gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Esquire shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Esquire showed some decent athleticism there.
Lucania makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lucania gets caught napping as Esquire dives in and scores a takedown. Lucania manages to retain guard.
Esquire keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lucania's head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Esquire is just content to waste time from the top position. Lucania takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Esquire is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lucania is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lucania has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Esquire bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lucania's guard.
Esquire gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Esquire dodges the punch combination from Lucania.
Esquire shoots in looking for a takedown but Lucania manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Esquire's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lucania throws a right and a left that Esquire avoids nicely.

Lucania tries to clinch but Esquire is having none of it.

Lucania is fighting off a takedown attempt but Esquire is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lucania to the mat. Lucania regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Esquire is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lucania is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Lucania is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Esquire dives into side control.
Esquire tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Esquire has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lucania wants to get back to his feet but Esquire drags him back down.
Esquire working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Lucania regains half guard there - taking advantage of Esquire's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jason Esquire will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lucania shoots in for a double leg but Esquire sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Esquire tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Lucania looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Esquire swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lucania changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Esquire shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lucania manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Esquire controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Esquire is looking to advance position but Lucania has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Esquire is desperately trying to improve his position but Lucania has a good base and remains in mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lucania wants to finish this one by submission but Esquire is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lucania.
Esquire is wriggling around trying to escape.
Esquire tries to hold on but Lucania pushes him away.
Lucania is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Jason Esquire tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
