Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leo Leka (ranked 3087 p4p, 293 weight class) and Stevie Franchise (ranked 4982 p4p, 427 weight class). Leka comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Franchise is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Microphone Fiend- Rage Against the Machine. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Stevie Franchise was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stevie Franchise!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leka takes one to the side of the head.
Franchise looks to land a right hand but Leka moved out of range.
A left lands for Franchise.
Leka keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Franchise.
Leka throwing a counter right hand but Franchise manages to avoid it.
Franchise throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Leka sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Leka lands with a cross.
Leka paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Leka is looking to slow Franchise down with leg kicks.
Leka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Franchise has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Leka.
Leka fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Franchise has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Franchise on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Leka. Leka obviously looking to wear him down.

It looked like Leka wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Franchise rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Leka moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The crowd cheers as Franchise lands an impressive looking overhand right. Leka doesn't seem phased though.

Franchise has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Leka.

Leka shoots in looking for a takedown but Franchise manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Leka's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Franchise! But no joy.
Leka bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Leka feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Leka connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Franchise some visible discomfort.

Franchise takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Leo Leka was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
