PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Pointek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinny Veechi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pointek comes to the cage accompanied by Sevendust - Enemy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Veechi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pointek sprawls well initially but Veechi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Veechi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pointek defends it well.

Veechi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Veechi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pointek is surviving well by controlling Veechi's body position as best he can.

Veechi has hold of Pointek's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pointek manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Veechi goes for an armbar but Pointek turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Pointek.
