Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Larry Cucumber (ranked 5123 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaudencio Roman (ranked 7687 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cucumber might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhRXn2NRiWI. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cucumber falls off balance throwing a combination
and Roman counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cucumber thinking.
Cucumber takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Roman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Roman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cucumber has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roman has managed to get both his arms back between Cucumber's legs - danger averted.

Cucumber is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Roman is aware though and is defending well.

Still in half guard, Roman seems content to control.
Roman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Cucumber is looking to improve his position.
Roman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Cucumber is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Roman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Roman's back!

Roman wants to control his opponent's hands but Cucumber gets his hands free.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cucumber doesn't have the hooks in and Roman manages to turn into his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cucumber working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Roman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Cucumber shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cucumber was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cucumber accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cucumber stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Roman throws up his legs and catches Cucumber in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Cucumber tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Roman! That came out of nowhere!
