Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Marx Jr (ranked 3652 p4p, 345 weight class) and Blake Wightman (ranked 1740 p4p, 166 weight class). Wightman has chosen BFMV-You want a battle(here's a war) as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Marx Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Blake Wightman!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marx Jr drops his hands momentarily and Wightman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Wightman scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Wightman misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Wightman postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Marx Jr gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Marx Jr is trying to maintain the position but Wightman is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marx Jr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wightman pulls his head out easily.
Marx Jr gets back to full guard.
Wightman lands a couple of digs.
Wightman is in close to Marx Jr's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Wightman trying to control the position from guard on top but Marx Jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wightman is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Marx Jr has his foot on Wightman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wightman works his way back into a safe position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wightman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Marx Jr is looking to cinch up a triangle. Wightman throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Marx Jr's body to avoid the submission. Marx Jr has instead reached around Wightman's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Marx Jr arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mark Marx Jr!
After winning the bout, Mark Marx Jr thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
In defeat, Blake Wightman stepped up to the mic, saying 'He was a great fighter I just hope that he doesn't befall some unlucky accident with a shoebox!'.
