Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raja Abdullaev (ranked 3647 p4p, 467 weight class) and Evan Glascoe (ranked 9372 p4p, 783 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Raja Abdullaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Evan Glascoe!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been told by Abdullaev's head coaches at AK Beasties that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

It looks like Evan Glascoe has been cut.
Abdullaev has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Glascoe finds it's way round the side to connect with Abdullaev's head.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Glascoe has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Some bone on bone action there as Abdullaev checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

enabling Abdullaev to counter with a crisp jab.
Abdullaev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Glascoe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Abdullaev quickly recovers to half guard.

Abdullaev manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Glascoe keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Abdullaev was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Abdullaev's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Glascoe connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Abdullaev scrambles back to his feet.

A close second round but Evan Glascoe will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Abdullaev is trying to get back to his feet but Glascoe has full control of the position and if anything, Abdullaev has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Abdullaev is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Glascoe gets his way!
