The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samson walks into a straight right hand from Costantini.
Costantini misses with a looping right.
Samson slips a straight right by Costantini.
Costantini misses with a wild body shot.
Costantini misses with a looping right.
Costantini missing with a left hand there. Samson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Samson takes one to the side of the head.

It looks like Joe Samson has been cut.
Costantini throws out a loose jab but Samson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Costantini throws a right hand that Samson ducks under and follows up with a left that Samson also avoids with ease.
Samson doesn't manage to clinch there - Costantini circles away.
Samson blocks a jab.
Samson shoots for a takedown but Costantini saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A quick step to the side and Costantini tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Samson.
Ezio Costantini has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Samson.
Costantini throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Samson sees it coming and avoids it easily.

The fighters circling - Costantini throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Costantini avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Samson tries to clinch but Costantini moves out of range.
It looked like Costantini was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Samson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Samson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Costantini defends it nicely.
Costantini loads up on a big right hand but Samson slips the punch.

Samson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Costantini manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Costantini lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Samson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Samson walks straight into a right hand from Costantini - that's dropped him! Costantini jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Samson from any more punishment! Samson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
