The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bam throws a combination. Sanders tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Lawrence Sanders has been cut.

Sanders manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bam on his heels. He'll look to pass Bam's guard now, I'm sure.
Bam is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Sanders slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Sanders is working Bam over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Sanders has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bam has momentary wrist control but Sanders slips an elbow through the middle.
Bam really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanders. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Sanders counters by clinching up.

Sanders turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Bam is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sanders has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Bam wants to get back to his feet but Sanders is dominant here and he's now got Bam's back!
Sanders could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sanders is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Sanders gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Sanders gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Sanders apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Bam throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sanders on the side of the head.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bam tries to bum rush Sanders with a series of wild strikes but Sanders uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sanders seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Tam Bam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bam misses with a double jab

and Sanders moves into the clinch.
The referee calls for Sanders to work.
Sanders avoiding damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
