These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Strickland.
Strickland throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mocabero's waist but Mocabero gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Strickland off to one side.
Mocabero is looking for the big counter here.

Mocabero shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Strickland kicks off Mocabero and gets to his feet.
Strickland takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Strickland tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mocabero sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Strickland somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danilo Strickland. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mocabero dives in and scores a takedown into Strickland's guard.

Mocabero slips nicely into half guard.
Mocabero looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Strickland with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mocabero lands a nice short elbow.

Strickland is rocked!
Mocabero moves nicely into side control.
Oh Strickland is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Mocabero thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Mocabero lands a strong strike to the head of Strickland. That's dazed him! Mocabero looking to finish here. Strickland is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Mocabero lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
