Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucius Lycan!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assunicao throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lycan closes the distance and clinches up with Assunicao, looking for a takedown. Lycan pushes Assunicao against the cage but Assunicao circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Assunicao moves into the clinch.
Lycan tries to score a body lock takedown but Assunicao shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Lycan has Assunicao pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Assunicao manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Silvano Assunicao has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucius Lycan.

Lycan drops down looking for an ankle pick but Assunicao pulls his leg out and moves away.

Assunicao throws a sloppy head kick and Lycan moves out of range easily.

Assunicao rushes Lycan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lycan is working for takedown but Assunicao is calmly controlling the position for now.

Lycan's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Assunicao lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Assunicao breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Lycan takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Lycan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Assunicao.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Assunicao moves into the clinch.
Assunicao lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lycan or not.

Assunicao lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Lycan takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lucius Lycan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Assunicao throws a right hand that Lycan ducks under and follows up with a left that Lycan also avoids with ease.
Assunicao scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lycan doesn't seem bothered though.
Assunicao misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Assunicao fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lycan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Assunicao pinned against the cage. Assunicao gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lycan avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Lycan avoids the head kick by Assunicao.
Lycan closes the distance but Assunicao moves to the side
and Assunicao counters with a three punch combo that has Lycan backing up. Lycan nods at Assunicao to acknowledge the strikes.

Assunicao digs a right hand underneath Lycan's ribcage. Lycan let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Lycan is trying desperately to land a takedown but Assunicao is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Lycan.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Assunicao throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lycan misses with a takedown attempt
and Assunicao counters with a low kick, right behind Lycan 's knee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
