The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pearson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pearson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Jyine throws Pearson to one side and escapes!
Jyine doesn't manage to clinch there - Pearson circles away.

It looks like Walton Pearson has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jyine tries a head kick but it misses.

Pearson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jyine is working an open guard so Pearson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Jyine fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pearson sprawls well initially but Jyine persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Pearson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Jyine is working Pearson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jyine lands a nice short elbow.
Jyine wants to free his trapped foot but Pearson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Jyine looks to land a strike but Pearson avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Jyine drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pearson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jyine has Pearson in his guard.

Jyine has his foot on Pearson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pearson works his way back into a safe position though.

Jyine is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jyine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pearson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pearson seems to have got his legs back now.
Jyine has a closed guard, preventing Pearson from standing up.
Jyine manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pearson manages to get himself to full guard.

Jyine throws a strike but Pearson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Jyine closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pearson quickly recovers to half guard.
Jyine wants to stand but Pearson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Pearson regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Jyine.
Jyine postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jyine would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Pearson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jyine's guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jyine looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Pearson has picked Jyine up and slammed him! Jyine can't keep hold of the triangle and Pearson manages to pass to side control!
