PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Young Barrett (ranked 24768 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Syatt (ranked 4462 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lee Syatt was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Syatt shoots in and gets a takedown into Barrett's guard.
Barrett is looking to stand back up but Syatt counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Barrett.

Barrett has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Syatt is working away from the top position though.
Barrett misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Barrett moves into full guard.
Syatt trying to control the position from guard on top but Barrett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Barrett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barrett pulls Syatt in close to his closed guard and prevents Syatt from doing any damage or advancing position.
Syatt prevents Barrett from getting back to his feet.

Barrett wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Syatt drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Barrett manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Syatt has Barrett in his guard.

Syatt is looking to cinch up a triangle. Barrett throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Syatt's body to avoid the submission. Syatt has instead reached around Barrett's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Syatt arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
