PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nai Khanom Tom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abraham King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tom kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shut your mouth. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nai Khanom Tom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abraham King!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King takes one on the button.
Tom pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

King scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

King working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Tom knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King on the ground.
King trying to control the action but Tom is working from the bottom.

King stands up and beckons Tom to his feet.
Tom circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tom goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Abraham King has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tom tries to clinch up but King circles away and keeps his distance.
King misses with a series of wild punches.
King has a takedown stuffed.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tom moves in looking to clinch but King pushes him off.

Tom has King up against the cage in a clinch.
Tom lands an elbow just above King 's eye.
Tom connects with a nasty looking knee right to King's face.
King lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
King can't break the clinch.
King looks gassed!
Tom throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but King blocks it with crossed arms.

Tom manages to break the clinch.
Tom closes the distance looking to clinch

and King counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Tom pushes King off looking to stand but King dives back in and keeps control.
King not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Tom is trying to control but can't.

King is trying to work for a kimura but Tom is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
King tries to pass to full mount but Tom defends it.
Tom is looking to escape.

King is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Tom is trying to stand back up but King is controlling him

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Tom has managed to clinch.

Tom breaks from the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tom tries to close the distance and clinch but King swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Tom darts in and clinches King up against the cage.
Tom lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
King wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tom has him pressed against the cage.
King drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tom gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Tom lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Tom creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through King's defenses.
King tries to pull guard but Tom won't allow it.
Nai Khanom Tom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abraham King.
Tom looks to throw an elbow but misses.
King avoids the elbow strike from Tom, against the cage.
King misses with a shot to the kidneys.
King takes an elbow to the temple.
Tom lands a damaging elbow.
King stops a takedown attempt from Tom.

Tom manages to break the clinch.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Tom stuffs the takedown attempt from King. King gets slowly back to his feet.
Tom shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has King pinned against the cage. King gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tom tries to clinch

so King counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
King looking to sit in guard and control but Tom gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

King escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tom gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
King tries to land a sweep but no joy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

King throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Tom decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on King, up you get!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Nai Khanom Tom will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Abraham King's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tom tries to clinch but King moves away

and King counters with a takedown into side control.
Tom is not content to let King control the position.
Tom is trying to control King's posture but King avoids it.
King wants to control but Tom is keeping him busy.

King wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tom, who protects the arm well.

King goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Tom rolls with the submission and now he's on top in King's guard! Nice work there by Tom!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tom controls from within his opponent's guard.

Tom is posturing up here but King has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Tom tries to roll out but it's too tight and Tom has to tap! Slick submission there by King!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Abraham King!
