Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Norman Havret (ranked 1475 p4p, 232 weight class) and Kareem Dennis (ranked 1970 p4p, 292 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Norman Havret!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Kareem Dennis !
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Havret scores with a sloppy right hand. Dennis should have avoided that one.
Havret misses with an uppercut

so Dennis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dennis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dennis drops back looking for a leg! Havret is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Havret manages to kick Dennis off! Dennis jumps back into Havret's guard.

Dennis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Havret manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dennis has Havret in his guard.


Havret got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dennis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Havret has managed to get both his arms back between Dennis 's legs - danger averted.

Dennis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Havret doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Havret manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Havret has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Dennis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Havret passes into side control.
Dennis holds on to Havret's head and controls the position momentarily.

Dennis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Havret haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Havret knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dennis on the ground.
Havret wants to stand but Dennis is controlling his arm.
Dennis is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Dennis manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dennis throwing shots but Havret is blocking nicely.

Dennis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Havret doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dennis .
Dennis not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Havret has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dennis is working away from the top position though.
Dennis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Dennis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Havret is just riding it out for now. Dennis eventually gives up the hold.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Havret wants to get back to his feet.

Dennis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dennis is working for a submission of some sort.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dennis seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kareem Dennis dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Dennis takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

and Dennis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dennis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dennis throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Havret trying to keep a closed guard but Dennis is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Havret on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Havret tries to get out of the position.
Dennis lands a couple of digs.

Dennis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dennis maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Havret could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Dennis has cracked it and Havret is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Dennis !

Kareem Dennis was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
