Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ben McHough (ranked 573 p4p, 28 weight class) and Dominique Bell (ranked 2252 p4p, 119 weight class). Dominique Bell will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ben McHough!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dominique Bell!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bell takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
McHough lets loose with a powerful body kick. Bell will feel that in the morning.
McHough scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Bell with a poor takedown
and McHough counters with a leg kick.
Bell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McHough pinned against the cage. McHough gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McHough tries to avoid it but Bell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McHough to the ground. McHough escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ben McHough has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dominique Bell.
McHough lands with a thumping leg kick.
McHough slaps away a takedown attempt from Bell, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McHough throws a quick inside leg kick.
Bell tries for a takedown but McHough sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bell shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and McHough counters with a straight right hand.
Bell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McHough is trying to defend but Bell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Bell is pressing down on McHough's thigh, looking to free his foot. McHough is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for McHough!
Bell can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McHough is looking to escape.
We've been hearing good reports from McHough's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Bell is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. McHough can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

McHough defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bell.

Bell has hold of McHough's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and McHough manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
McHough tries to hold on but Bell pushes him away.
McHough might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Poor strikes thrown by Bell there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Bell prevents McHough from getting the reversal.

McHough knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bell on the ground.
McHough is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Bell wants to take McHough's back but he can't do it this time.

Bell jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but McHough manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Bell has worked his way into a potential kimura here. McHough is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Bell yanks on the arm and McHough is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Bell.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dominique Bell!
