Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Ruiz (ranked 10335 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zygmunt Stec (ranked 6629 p4p, 0 weight class). Zygmunt Stec will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zygmunt Stec!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stec misses with a takedown

and Ruiz moves into the clinch.
Stec avoiding damage as Ruiz throws knees to the body.

Stec breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ruiz closes the distance and clinches.
Stec wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Ruiz jumps guard and drags Stec to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Ruiz wants to get back to his feet but Stec is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Stec looking to sit in guard and control but Ruiz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Stec is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ruiz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stec swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ruiz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Stec wants to stand but Ruiz is controlling the position.
Ruiz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ruiz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Ruiz works over Stec with some ground and pound from guard.
Stec looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ruiz controlling from the top position.

Ruiz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Stec tries to clinch there but Ruiz circles away.

Ruiz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Stec bucks up and tries to throw Ruiz off but instead Ruiz has got his back!
Ruiz is hanging on to Stec's back as he tries to escape.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Stec manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ruiz 's guard. Nice work there by Stec.

Ruiz has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Stec doesn't defend quickly enough and Ruiz has managed to lock this one up! Can Stec escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Ruiz on a fantastic submission victory.
