Gharibi throws a right and a left that both miss.
We've been told by Gharibi's head coaches at Helsinki Athletics Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Gharibi lands a left and a right that send Newhouse crashing to the mat, dazed. Gharibi thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Kelly Newhouse has been cut.
Gharibi misses with a hook.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Newhouse.
Gharibi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Gharibi counters with a crisp right hand that drops Newhouse! Gharibi lets Newhouse back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Newhouse is still on wobbly legs! Can Gharibi finish him?
Gharibi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Newhouse seems to have recovered his senses.
No joy there for Gharibi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gharibi connects with a superb combination that knocks Newhouse out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Gharibi before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Newhouse!
