Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucifer Samm (ranked 22475 p4p, 945 weight class) and Tyrus Shakur (ranked 24026 p4p, 920 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyrus Shakur!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shakur moves away from the strike by Samm.
Samm throws a lazy right hand but Shakur sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Samm tried to score with a low kick but Shakur checks it.
Samm slips a jab and a cross from Shakur.
A slow jab from Shakur misses its intended target.
No luck for Shakur with that takedown attempt.

Shakur lands with a nice combination. Samm backs away looking to recover.

Samm throws a front kick aimed at Shakur's knee but Shakur avoids it well.

Shakur wants to land a leg kick but Samm is out of range.
Samm tries to bum rush Shakur with a series of wild strikes but Shakur uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Samm connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Shakur momentarily.

Samm darts in and clinches Shakur up against the cage.

Samm tries to throw a body punch but Shakur avoids it by throwing Samm back against the cage.

Shakur is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Samm can't fight it off and eventually Shakur manages to take the fight to the floor. Samm looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Samm manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Shakur throws a nice outside leg kick.
Shakur is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Shakur ducks under a wild hook from Samm.

Shakur shoots in looking for a takedown. Samm tries to sprawl out of it but Shakur keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Samm manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lucifer Samm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyrus Shakur.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shakur is defended easily by Samm.

Shakur tries to counter with a clinch but Samm shakes him off and moves away.
Shakur closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Shakur wants to take the fight to the mat but Samm manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Samm breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Samm throws a looping overhand right but Shakur ducks down to avoid it.
Shakur's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Samm connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Shakur scrambles back to his feet.

Samm looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shakur swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Samm slaps away a takedown attempt from Shakur, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Samm moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Shakur is rocked!
Samm weaves into range and cracks Shakur right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Shakur goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Samm is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lucifer Samm!
