The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adriano shoots in for a takedown but MC shows good takedown defense.

MC closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Adriano manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

MC stands up and beckons Adriano to join him on the feet.
MC looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

MC wants to control the pace but Adriano is squirming around nicely.

MC wants to lay and pray for a moment but Adriano keeps working.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

MC should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Adriano avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

MC tries a head kick but it misses.

MC shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than MC was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

MC doesn't have the hooks in and Adriano manages to turn into his guard.
Adriano pushes down on MC's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Adriano passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for MC!

Adriano is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but MC is surviving well by controlling Adriano's body position as best he can.
MC really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adriano. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Adriano swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and MC is now in Adriano's guard. A big mistake from Adriano there, giving up the dominant position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

MC is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Adriano off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

MC manages to reverse the position and now he's in Adriano's guard. Nice work there by MC.

Adriano has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. MC doesn't defend quickly enough and Adriano has managed to lock this one up! Can MC escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Adriano on a fantastic submission victory.
