Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tod Truck (ranked 4508 p4p, 602 weight class) and Micheal Bates (ranked 3670 p4p, 511 weight class). Micheal Bates will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Truck looks to land a right hand but Bates moved out of range.

Bates closes the distance and clinches.
Truck takes a shot to the head.

Truck pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Truck tries to keep at a distance but Bates has taken the fight into the clinch.
Truck throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Bates manages to break the clinch.
Bates tries to clinch up but Truck circles away and keeps his distance.

Bates has Truck up against the cage in a clinch.
Truck tries to throw a body punch but Bates avoids it by throwing Truck back against the cage.
Bates tries to work over Truck's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Bates avoiding damage as Truck throws knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Truck wants to break free but Bates has control.
Bates slowing the pace effectively.
Truck is trying to break the clinch but Bates has him pressed against the cage.

Bates breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bates closes the distance and pushes Truck back into the cage.
Truck definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bates keeps control of Truck as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Bates's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Truck tries to keep at a distance but Bates has taken the fight into the clinch.
Truck blocks a body shot from Bates.
Bates lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Bates working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Truck wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bates can't get the takedown.
Truck's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Bates pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Truck lands a two punch combo.

Bates closes the distance and pushes Truck back into the cage.

Truck breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Truck throws a one two combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bates tries to close the distance and clinch up but Truck swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bates is trying hard to land a takedown here. Truck sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Bates keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Truck's efforts to push away.

Bates wants the takedown. Truck is fighting it off but Bates persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Truck's guard against the cage.

Bates is working Truck over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Truck has momentary wrist control but Bates slips an elbow through the middle.
Bates makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Bates has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bates lands a couple of digs.
Bates stands up over Truck, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Bates with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bates distracts Truck with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Bates not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Bates wants to pass the guard but Truck is keeping the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bates advances to half guard.
Truck has hold of Bates's hands but Bates slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Truck is rocked!
Bates is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Truck is hurt! He's hurt bad - Bates fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Truck from any more punishment! Congratulations to Bates! Great finish!
