Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norris Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Carreiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Norris Flores!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Carreiro!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flores shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carreiro pinned against the cage. Carreiro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Carreiro shoots in looking for a takedown but Flores manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carreiro's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Carreiro throws a series of punches but Flores moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flores shoots in looking for a takedown. Carreiro tries to sprawl out of it but Flores keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carreiro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Carreiro moves in looking to clinch but Flores pushes him off.

and Flores counters by moving into the clinch.
Flores prevents the takedown attempt.
Norris Flores has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Carreiro.

Carreiro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carreiro throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Flores counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carreiro won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carreiro seems a little lost for a moment, as Flores dominates the positioning.

Carreiro wants to get back to his feet.
Flores will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Flores tries to move into full mount but can't pass Carreiro's legs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Flores unloads with some shots from mount but Carreiro bucks and avoids them well.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Carreiro.
Flores is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carreiro is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Flores is defending well.
Flores is pressed up against the cage. Carreiro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Flores down to the mat. Flores avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Carreiro looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Flores shoots in looking for a takedown but Carreiro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Flores's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Flores lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Flores moves into range and clinches up with Carreiro.
Carreiro is looking to take this one to the mat.
Carreiro tries for a takedown but Flores manages to get underhooks.
Flores drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Carreiro gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Flores is trying to trip Carreiro. He has hold of a leg but Carreiro is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Flores persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Flores is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Carreiro can do to turn this around?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Flores tries to clinch there but Carreiro circles away.
Carreiro is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Flores gets the takedown into side control.
Norris Flores overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Flores in side control, throwing shots but Carreiro defends.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Flores's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Carreiro shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Carreiro was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Flores throws Carreiro to one side and escapes!
Flores could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Flores shoots in but Carreiro avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Carreiro has Flores up against the cage in a clinch.
Flores tries for a takedown but Carreiro manages to get underhooks.
Carreiro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Flores wants the takedown. Carreiro is fighting it off but Flores persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Carreiro's guard against the cage.

Flores looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Flores decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Carreiro, up you get!

A nice combination there by Flores.

Flores gets a double leg takedown into Carreiro's guard.
Flores postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Carreiro is looking to stand back up but Flores counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Carreiro.

Well, if Flores is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Well Flores has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
