Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Billy Mundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taako Tajko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taako Tajko is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Mundy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Taako Tajko!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Tajko or perhaps it was just good defense by Mundy, which made it look bad.

Tajko shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mundy is trying to defend but Tajko finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Tajko is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mundy has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mundy is trying to maintain the position but Tajko is very close to passing his half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tajko is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mundy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tajko.
Mundy wants to improve his position but Tajko is controlling well.
Mundy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tajko on the ground.

Mundy is looking to control Tajko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mundy avoid being mounted?

Tajko is looking for a kimura but Mundy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tajko to get the leverage.

Tajko wants to work for an arm triangle but Mundy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Tajko is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Mundy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mundy is trying to control but can't.

Tajko is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mundy defends it well.

Tajko is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mundy sees it coming and defends easily.

Mundy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tajko pulls his head out easily.
Mundy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tajko is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mundy!

Tajko goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mundy is on top in guard.
Mundy trying to control the position from guard on top but Tajko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tajko working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mundy.
Mundy looking to sit in guard and control but Tajko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Tajko has gone for a leg lock! Mundy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tajko's guard.

Tajko is trying to control the position but Mundy postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mundy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tajko is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taako Tajko dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Nice takedown defense from Mundy. No joy for Tajko on that attempt.
Tajko drops his hands momentarily and Mundy takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Mundy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tajko was well out of range. Poor timing from Mundy.
Mundy misses with a looping left.
Tajko moves out of range of the strikes.
Mundy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Tajko darts in looking for a takedown but Mundy gets double underhooks and turns Tajko into the cage.
Mundy is looking for a counter combo.
Billy Mundy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taako Tajko.
Tajko fails with the takedown.
Mundy seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mundy misses with a body kick.
Tajko steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Mundy.
Mundy throws a series of punches but Tajko avoids them all with ease.
Tajko dives in for a single leg takedown but Mundy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Mundy throws a low kick but Tajko moves out of range easily.
Billy Mundy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mundy misses with a wild combination.
Mundy thuds his right hand into Tajko's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Mundy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Mundy closes the distance and clinches.
Tajko jumps guard but Mundy turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Tajko wants to break free but Mundy has control.
Mundy lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Mundy lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Tajko backwards.
Tajko tries to pull guard but Mundy holds him up against the cage and eventually Tajko drops back down to his feet.
Mundy lands a shoulder strike.

Mundy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mundy has managed to clinch.
Mundy tries to land knees in the clinch but Tajko avoids the damage to the body.
Mundy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tajko can do to turn this around?
Mundy pushes Tajko back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mundy putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Tajko in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Tajko fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mundy is pushing Tajko up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Mundy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mundy scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Sloppy strikes from Mundy. Those never looked like landing.
Tajko has a takedown stuffed.
Mundy is looking for a counter combo.
Tajko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mundy scores with a body shot.
Mundy looks to land a combination. Tajko sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Mundy throws a one two combo.
Mundy with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Mundy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tajko was well out of range. Poor timing from Mundy.
Tajko fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tajko is breathing heavily.
Tajko takes one to the side of the head.
Tajko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mundy as he avoids it easily.
Tajko doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Mundy closes the distance and clinches.
Tajko wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mundy tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Tajko avoids it.
Tajko can't get the takedown.

Mundy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A solid body kick from Mundy.
Mundy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mundy clobbers Tajko with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mundy tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Tajko looking to score a takedown here. Mundy is defending well but Tajko drives through and ends up in Mundy's guard.

Tajko thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mundy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tajko is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Mundy dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Tajko avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Tajko looking to score a takedown here. Mundy is defending well but Tajko drives through and ends up in Mundy's guard.
Taako Tajko has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mundy is looking to stand up but Tajko isn't so interested in that idea.
Mundy looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Mundy lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mundy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tajko works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mundy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Tajko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mundy landing with the ground and pound.

Tajko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mundy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tajko keeping full guard, as Mundy tries to pass.
Mundy trying to control the position from guard on top but Tajko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mundy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tajko is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Tajko wants to get back to his feet but Mundy is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Mundy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tajko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mundy has managed to get both his arms back between Tajko's legs - danger averted.

Mundy trying to control but Tajko is working from the bottom.
Mundy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Mundy wants to control from the top but Tajko keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Tajko keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mundy.
Mundy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mundy shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Tajko shoots in but Mundy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tajko tries for a takedown but Mundy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tajko takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tajko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mundy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tajko somewhat.
Billy Mundy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taako Tajko.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mundy throws a shot to the body.
Mundy with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Tajko darts in looking for a takedown but Mundy gets double underhooks and turns Tajko into the cage.
Mundy was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Tajko takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mundy bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tajko's head.
Mundy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tajko circles away quickly and effectively.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tajko walks into a stiff left hand from Mundy.
Mundy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tajko tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tajko has his takedown stuffed
and Mundy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

And that's the end of the fight!
Billy Mundy showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Mundy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
