The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Annapolis has Valk up against the cage in a clinch.
Annapolis tightens his grip and picks Valk up, before dumping him to the ground. Valk manages to land in guard.
Valk wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Annapolis manages to pass to side control.
Valk wants to control but Annapolis is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Valk is trying to stand.
Annapolis keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Valk tries to roll over but Annapolis keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Annapolis stalling.
Valk is looking for a sweep. Annapolis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Annapolis is taking a breather. Valk says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Valk is trying to control Annapolis's posture. Annapolis takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Valk! Annapolis is rotating here... this could be the end... Valk is out! Annapolis has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
