Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Enda OSullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Enda OSullivan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ricardo Ruiz!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz has his takedown stuffed

and OSullivan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by OSullivan.
OSullivan content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Ruiz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

OSullivan moves into the clinch.

Ruiz manages to break the clinch.

OSullivan drives through with a takedown into Ruiz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Ruiz throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
OSullivan won't allow Ruiz to sweep him here.
OSullivan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
OSullivan trying to control the position from guard on top but Ruiz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ruiz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
OSullivan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
OSullivan wants to control from the top but Ruiz keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Ruiz clinches.
OSullivan is pushing Ruiz up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Ruiz tries to break the clinch but OSullivan is controlling the position.

OSullivan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ruiz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but OSullivan avoids it really well and circles away.

OSullivan fails to land with a series of punches.
OSullivan takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
OSullivan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ruiz swings and misses with a shot to the body

and OSullivan counters with a shoot takedown. Ruiz fights it but they end up in guard.
OSullivan cracks Ruiz with a solid left hand.
OSullivan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ruiz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ruiz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
OSullivan tries to free his leg and advance position but Ruiz is retaining full guard.

Ruiz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. OSullivan defends it easily.

Ruiz looking for a sweep. Not yet Ruiz, not yet.
OSullivan scoring with punches to the head and body.
OSullivan content to stall in guard here.
OSullivan won't allow Ruiz to sweep him here.
OSullivan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ruiz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ruiz keeping moving, preventing OSullivan from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ruiz leaves OSullivan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
OSullivan stuffs the takedown.
Enda OSullivan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Ruiz.

OSullivan looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Ruiz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ruiz looks winded!
OSullivan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Enda OSullivan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ruiz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ruiz tries to clinch up.
OSullivan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ruiz avoids it really well and circles away.
Ruiz darts in looking for a takedown but OSullivan gets double underhooks and turns Ruiz into the cage.
OSullivan fails with the takedown.
Ruiz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Enda OSullivan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ruiz tries to clinch there but OSullivan circles away.
Ruiz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. OSullivan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

OSullivan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ruiz's half guard.
Ruiz is staying active underneath OSullivan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OSullivan stops Ruiz from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruiz is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Ruiz wants to sweep but OSullivan has passed to side control!
Ruiz is breathing heavily.
Ruiz is not content to let OSullivan control the position.
Ruiz gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

OSullivan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ruiz sees it coming and defends easily.
Enda OSullivan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
OSullivan prevents Ruiz from improving his position.
OSullivan scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
OSullivan performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
OSullivan uses his free foot to push down on Ruiz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ruiz.
Ruiz wants to control but OSullivan is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
OSullivan is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Ruiz is in real trouble.

Ruiz is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if OSullivan gets his way!

OSullivan is hanging on to Ruiz's back as he tries to escape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
OSullivan lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
OSullivan is punishing Ruiz with strikes - can he finish him?!
Ruiz tries to escape the position.
OSullivan is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
OSullivan struggling to keep hold of the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ruiz is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

OSullivan working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Ruiz is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and OSullivan has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Ruiz taps out!
