Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Erin Harrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Soriano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edward Soriano has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Erin Harrell's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erin Harrell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Soriano!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soriano drives through with a takedown into guard.

Harrell uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Soriano has taken the fight to the clinch.
Harrell is trying to pull guard but Soriano turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Soriano has Harrell pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Soriano pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Harrell tumbling to the mat - Soriano dives into Harrell's guard.
Soriano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Harrell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Soriano slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Harrell is trying to buck Soriano off.

Soriano is trying to get an arm triangle but Harrell is defending well.

Harrell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Soriano wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Soriano is looking for a kimura but Harrell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Soriano to get the leverage.

Harrell is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Soriano scores with a couple of nice shots.

Harrell has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Soriano is on him like a limpet, forcing Harrell back against the cage.

Harrell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Harrell with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Soriano is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Harrell postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Soriano can do anything to dispel that myth.

Soriano is looking for a triangle but Harrell pushes his legs off easily.
Soriano avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Harrell on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Soriano pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Soriano drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Harrell has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Soriano off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Harrell connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Harrell throws a head kick but Soriano moves out of range.

Harrell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Soriano moves away.
Harrell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Soriano manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Harrell on his heels. He'll look to pass Harrell's guard now, I'm sure.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Harrell wants to control the position but Soriano says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Harrell is breathing heavily.
Harrell missing with punches from the bottom.
Soriano is controlling the pace.
Soriano works his way into side control.
Soriano is staying tight to Harrell's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Edward Soriano will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Harrell tries a head kick but it misses.
Soriano with the counter takedown but Harrell avoids it easily.
Soriano blocks a head kick by Harrell.
Soriano tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Soriano rushes Harrell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Harrell misses with the head strike.
Soriano blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Harrell manages to break the clinch.
Soriano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Harrell tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Soriano manages to circle out of the way.

Soriano feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Edward Soriano has got the better of the ground game so far.

Soriano thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harrell keeping full guard, as Soriano tries to pass.
Soriano is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Soriano cracks Harrell with a solid left hand.

Harrell isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Soriano stacks Harrell on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Soriano!

Soriano is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Harrell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Soriano is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Harrell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Harrell pushes Soriano away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Soriano gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Soriano is looking to take a break and control but Harrell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Harrell tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Soriano would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Soriano is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Soriano must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Harrell has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Soriano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Harrell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Soriano has Harrell pulled in close to control his posture.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Harrell postures up in Soriano's guard and throws a big left but Soriano blocks it.

Edward Soriano showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Soriano sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Edward Soriano is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
