Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyrus Shakur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaice Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gunn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Gunn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Gunn preventing the sweep.
Gunn scoring with some ground and pound.
Gunn throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Shakur is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gunn postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Gunn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gunn distracts Shakur with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
My spies in Sydney Fight Team inform me that Gunn has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Gunn is stalling in the full guard.

Gunn passes into half guard.
Gunn prevents Shakur from improving his position.
Gunn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gunn is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shakur has managed to free his arm - good work.

Gunn decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Gunn fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shakur, pushing him back against the cage.

Gunn gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Shakur regains guard.
Shakur really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gunn connects with a couple of short punches.
Gunn landing with the ground and pound.
Gunn scores with a decent looking elbow strike.


Shakur is rocked!
Gunn pushes down on Shakur's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Oh Shakur is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gunn scores with a big shot! Shakur's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Shakur! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kaice Gunn!
Kaice Gunn bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
