Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ji Lu (ranked 1714 p4p, 210 weight class) and Nickey Spillane (ranked 1035 p4p, 130 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ji Lu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nickey Spillane!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lu defending well as Spillane loads up on a big left hand.
Spillane throws a hook to the side of Lu's head but Lu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lu went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Spillane has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Lu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spillane as he avoids it easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lu.
Lu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ji Lu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lu shoots and misses
and Spillane counters with a head kick.
Spillane scores with a nice body kick.
Lu fails to land the takedown.
Spillane throws a counter combo.
Lu is breathing heavily.
Spillane looks to land a combination but Lu avoids it well.
It looked like Lu was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Spillane connects with the punch.

It looks like Ji Lu has been cut.
Lu takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Spillane misses with a body kick.
Spillane fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Spillane cracks Lu with an uppercut from hell and Lu crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Spillane's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spillane is stalling in the full guard.

Spillane is looking to work some ground and pound but Lu has wrist control.

Lu is trying to control the position but Spillane postures up.
Spillane throws a big elbow that misses.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spillane controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Lu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Spillane sprawls well. Spillane wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lu gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lu checks a leg kick.
Lu tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spillane swivels and escapes.
Spillane leaves Lu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Spillane drops Lu with a big left hand and mounts him. Lu is in big trouble!

Ji Lu's cut is getting worse.
Lu is desperately trying to improve his position but Spillane has a good base and remains in mount.
Spillane tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Spillane scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Lu?

Spillane fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Ji Lu's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ji Lu's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Nickey Spillane!
