Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Theo Calderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amit Kundu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amit Kundu will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Theo Calderon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Amit Kundu!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kundu throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Kundu looking to score a takedown here. Calderon is defending well but Kundu drives through and ends up in Calderon's guard.
Kundu is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Calderon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kundu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kundu trying to control the position from guard on top but Calderon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Calderon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kundu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kundu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Calderon gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Kundu has Calderon pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kundu pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Calderon tumbling to the mat - Kundu dives into Calderon's guard.

Calderon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Calderon has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kundu is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Calderon.

Kundu has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Calderon jumps guard but Kundu stands there with Calderon around his waist. Calderon gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Calderon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kundu walks away with a smile on his face. Calderon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Theo Calderon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Calderon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kundu's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Calderon tries to close the distance and clinch but Kundu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And Kundu tries to counter it with a takedown but Calderon pushes his down on his head and steps out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Amit Kundu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Kundu shoots in and bounces Calderon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Kundu is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Calderon presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Calderon is standing up over Kundu. Kundu looks to escape but Calderon dives into side control.

Calderon is looking to take a break and control but Kundu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kundu is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Calderon is staying active.

Well Kundu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
