The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira on the wrong end of a nice jab.

It looks like Samuel Pereira has been cut.
Pereira shoots in but Slaughter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Slaughter bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pereira's head backwards.
Slaughter scores with a sloppy right hand. Pereira should have avoided that one.

Pereira is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Slaughter moves into the clinch.
Pereira is still on wobbly legs! Can Slaughter finish him?
Slaughter has Pereira pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Pereira is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Slaughter - that's hurt Pereira badly! Oh, another knee lands and Pereira is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Pereira doesn't seem to be complaining.
