Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between DeMarlon Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ward Rand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward Rand is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, DeMarlon Holmes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ward Rand!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rand is defended easily by Holmes.
Rand dives in for a single leg takedown but Holmes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Holmes - that will leave a mark!
Rand shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Holmes sprawls well. Holmes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rand gets slowly back to his feet.
DeMarlon Holmes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ward Rand.
Nice shot lands for Holmes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Holmes.
Holmes punishes Rand's body with a nice straight punch.
Rand looks winded!
A jab from Holmes does it's job there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Holmes.
Rand should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Holmes, as that shot connected.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Holmes, right into the meat.
Holmes thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Rand if he has to take too many more of those.
Holmes with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Holmes drops Rand with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rand looks back up at him and smiles so Holmes waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Rand is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holmes lands a right hook to the body.

Holmes feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Rand sprawling to the canvas! Rand rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Holmes finish him?!
Rand is still on wobbly legs! Can Holmes finish him?
Holmes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Holmes has managed to clinch.
Holmes lands a nice shot to the body.
Holmes stalling.

Holmes breaks the clinch.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rand crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Holmes - the referee stops the clock and Rand gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Holmes. Rand manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rand seems to have recovered his senses.

Holmes fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Holmes digs a good body shot into Rand's ribs.
Holmes thumps Rand with a low kick.
Holmes comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Holmes gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Holmes digs a right hand underneath Rand's ribcage. Rand let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Holmes lands a nice uppercut.
Rand has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Holmes.
Holmes is stalling here.
Holmes just leaning against Rand, taking a breather.
Holmes lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rand backwards.
Holmes pushes Rand back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Holmes breaks the clinch.
and Holmes counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Rand! He's just covering up as Holmes starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
