The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooh a lovely combination from Tuttle sends Johnson down but not out. Tuttle dives into side control looking to finish.

Johnson has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Tuttle swings around for an armbar but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Tuttle's guard.

Tuttle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It looks like Johnson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Tuttle is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.
