PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Khaliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ingvar Ingesson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khaliev comes to the cage accompanied by T-Wayne - Nasty Freestyle. Ingesson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sail - AWOLNATION. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adam Khaliev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ingvar Ingesson!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khaliev throws an off balance right hand
and Ingesson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Adam Khaliev has been cut.

Oooh a lovely combination from Khaliev sends Ingesson down but not out. Khaliev dives into side control looking to finish.


Ingesson is rocked!


It looks like Ingvar Ingesson has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Khaliev working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Ingesson is still in real trouble! Can Khaliev finish him?

Khaliev wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ingesson, who protects the arm well.
Ingesson struggling a bit here.
Ingesson seems to have recovered his senses.

Khaliev swings around for an armbar but Ingesson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Khaliev's guard.

Khaliev looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Khaliev trying to keep a closed guard but Ingesson is proving a slippery customer.
Khaliev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Khaliev is looking for a triangle but Ingesson pushes his legs off easily.

Khaliev isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ingesson stacks Khaliev on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ingesson!

Khaliev tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Ingesson presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Let's hope that Ingesson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Ingesson wants to control the pace but Khaliev is squirming around nicely.
Khaliev is in all sorts of trouble here.

Ingesson prevents Khaliev from getting the reversal.
Ingesson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Khaliev because Ingesson loaded up on that one.

Khaliev keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ingesson connects with a nice short shot to Khaliev's temple.
Khaliev wants to control the action here but instead Ingesson manages to pass to full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ingvar Ingesson will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Khaliev thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ingesson throws a counter combo.
Ingesson scores with a jab to the body.
Ingesson misses with a straight left.
Khaliev rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ingesson counters with a left and a right that stings Khaliev.

Khaliev clinches.
Ingesson lands an uppercut.
Ingesson throws a punch but it's blocked by Khaliev.
Khaliev just leaning against Ingesson, taking a breather.
Khaliev looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
A bit of stalling here from Ingesson.
Still in the clinch, Ingesson scores with a nice short uppercut.

Khaliev breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Khaliev has Ingesson up against the cage in a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The referee calls for Ingesson to work.

Khaliev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Khaliev throws out a loose jab but Ingesson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Khaliev scores with a punch to the head.

Decent striking displayed by Ingesson there.
Khaliev misses with a hook
and Ingesson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Khaliev lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Khaliev closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Khaliev is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
A nice right hand lands inside from Ingesson.

Khaliev is pushing Ingesson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Khaliev is trying to stall.

Ingesson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Khaliev slips under a jab.
Khaliev moves out of range as Ingesson strikes.

Khaliev drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ingesson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ingesson pulls Khaliev in to control the position.
Khaliev working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Khaliev is fighting to break Ingesson's control of his arms but Ingesson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Khaliev sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ingesson's guard.
Ingesson preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Khaliev is looking for a kimura but Ingesson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Khaliev to get the leverage.
Khaliev wants to control but Ingesson is keeping him busy.
Ingesson is positioning himself well to prevent Khaliev advancing to mount.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Adam Khaliev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Khaliev fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ingesson manages to avoid it.
Ingesson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
A big left from Ingesson misses.
Khaliev lands with a nice body punch.
Khaliev slips a jab and a cross from Ingesson.
Some wild striking there from Khaliev.
A little jabbing left from Ingesson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Khaliev connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Ingesson to the floor! Khaliev dives in looking for the finish!

Khaliev is working for a kimura but Ingesson is defending it quite comfortably.
Khaliev is pressing down on Ingesson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ingesson is holding on for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Khaliev dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Ingesson counters with a left and a right that stings Khaliev.
Ingesson walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Khaliev drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Ingesson swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Khaliev's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ingvar Ingesson!
