Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elias Buckner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randall Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randall Couture told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Buckner at a distance.

Buckner has Couture up against the cage in a clinch.

Couture pulls guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Buckner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Couture is adopting a defensive guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Couture can do anything to dispel that myth.
Buckner wants to control from the top but Couture keeps moving.
Buckner is really struggling to control Couture but he's trying to hold on to the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Couture has his hands on Buckner's head, controlling the position.
Buckner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Couture is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Couture is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Couture pulls Buckner in close to his closed guard and prevents Buckner from doing any damage or advancing position.
Couture looking to hit a scissor sweep but Buckner is one step ahead there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Couture lands a nice looking body shot.
A jab from Couture finds it's way through Buckner's defenses.

It looks like Elias Buckner has been cut.
Couture throws a good cross that connects.

Couture cracks a nice hook into Buckner's ribs.

Couture shoots in and bounces Buckner off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Buckner keeping moving, preventing Couture from controlling successfully.
Couture must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Couture stays in close to Buckner's body and controls the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Buckner is looking for a triangle but Couture pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Buckner thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Couture controlling from the top position.
Couture postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Buckner controls Couture momentarily but Couture frees himself.
Couture connects with a couple of short punches.
Buckner looking to control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Couture jabs Buckner to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Buckner is breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Couture scores with a crisp jab that stopped Buckner in his tracks.

Couture rushes Buckner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Buckner gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Couture has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Couture swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Buckner.

Buckner is rocked!
Couture throws an uppercut from hell that sends Buckner clean off his feet! He's out cold! Couture stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
