Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Blood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malvin Mandi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malvin Mandi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Blood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Malvin Mandi!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blood avoids a punch combination nicely.
Blood keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mandi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
It looked like Blood was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Mandi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mandi fails to land with a series of punches.
Mandi wants to clinch.
Mandi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A combination from Mandi does no damage.
Mandi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blood manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mandi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Blood circles away quickly and effectively.
Blood changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Blood fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mandi to the ground. Blood is now in Mandi's guard.

Mandi kicks Blood off and gets to his feet.

Blood swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mandi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Mandi has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Blood throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mandi's head.

Mandi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Blood shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mandi's guard.
Blood throws a strike but Mandi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mandi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mandi told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Blood wants to control the position but Mandi says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Mandi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mandi in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blood is trying to maintain the position but Mandi is very close to passing his half guard.
Blood tries to roll over but Mandi keeps him under control.

Blood wants to get back to full guard.

Mandi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Blood avoids the body shot from Mandi.
Blood misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Blood avoids a punch combination nicely.
Blood slips a jab and a cross from Mandi.
Mandi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Blood rather than just go for the knockout.

That's time! Blood's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mandi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Blood.
Blood throws a right hand that Mandi ducks under and follows up with a left that Mandi also avoids with ease.

Aaron Blood is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Blood throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mandi's waist but Mandi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Blood off to one side.

Mandi wants to counter the offense by Blood and move into the clinch position.
Mandi tries to bum rush Blood with a series of wild strikes but Blood uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Mandi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mandi lands with a right to the head.

Blood tries to lock up and control but Mandi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Blood is squirming around, avoiding Mandi's attempts to control the action.

Mandi is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Blood knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Blood for a finish.

Mandi is not going to allow Blood to sit and survive in this position.
I really don't envy Blood right now.
Blood manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mandi's guard. Nice work there by Blood.
Malvin Mandi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mandi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Blood controls the pace.
Blood in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blood accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Malvin Mandi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Blood lands a nice looking body kick.
Mandi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Blood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mandi.

Mandi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Blood will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mandi stuffs the takedown attempt from Blood. Blood gets slowly back to his feet.

Blood's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mandi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Blood scrambles back to his feet.
Mandi looks to land a combination. Blood sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


Blood is rocked!
A big right followed by a crushing left from Mandi knocks Blood out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Malvin Mandi!
In defeat, Aaron Blood stepped up to the mic, saying 'Jacob Whitehorse was too much for me tonight. The better game plan won tonight. I will wear this belt again, mark my words!'.
