Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Karl Ling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ling comes into the arena with Clawfinger - The Biggest and the Best blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Drake drives through and clinches with Ling against the cage.
Ling really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ling takes an elbow to the temple.
Ling wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Drake misses with a head kick.
Drake misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ling stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Drake tries to close the distance and clinch but Ling swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ling throws a head kick that misses.
Drake fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Drake circles away from the clinch attempt.

Ling shoots for a double leg takedown but Drake sprawls well. He's pushed Ling's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Karl Ling seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drake throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ling's head.

Ling plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Drake swings wildly with an uppercut but Ling uses good head movement to avoid it.
Drake has a couple of punches blocked by Ling.

Drake's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Drake avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ling throws a series of punches but Drake moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ling looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Drake goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Drake throws a series of strikes that have Ling backpedaling.
Ling closes this distance looking for a takedown but Drake circles away.
Ling is breathing heavily.
Drake takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Ling is looking to clinch but Drake is avoiding it.
Ling tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Drake fails with the takedown.
Ling misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Drake throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Drake tries to clinch but Ling is having none of it.

Drake rushes Ling and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ling using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Drake has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Drake lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Drake breaks the clinch.

Drake gets a clinch.

Ling manages to break the clinch.
Ling tries to close the distance and clinch up but Drake swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
No luck for Drake with that takedown attempt.

Drake drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ling managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Drake.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Drake holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Drake prevents Ling from breaking the clinch.

Drake gets through Ling's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Drake swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Drake prevents Ling from breaking the clinch.

Drake lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Ling wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Drake has him pressed against the cage.

Drake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Drake goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Ling is rocked!

Drake fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ling, pushing him back against the cage.
Oh Ling is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ling jumps guard but Drake stands there with Ling around his waist. Ling gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Drake breaks from the clinch.
Drake fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Ling square on the jaw! Damn, Ling is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
