PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clark Ochoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randall has chosen Jasmine as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randall closes the distance but Ochoa moves to the side

and Ochoa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Randall might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ochoa haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Ochoa gets to his feet. Randall looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Randall shoots in looking for a takedown but Ochoa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Randall's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ochoa throws a counter high kick but Randall was just alert enough to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Randall darts in and clinches Ochoa up against the cage.

Randall drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ochoa pulls his leg out and moves away.

Ochoa throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Randall tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ochoa is in Randall's guard.

Ochoa has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Randall shoots in for a takedown but Ochoa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ochoa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A head kick from Ochoa lands but Randall takes it in his stride.
Randall tries to clinch but Ochoa moves out of range.
Ochoa lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Randall tries to kick Ochoa off in order to stand up. Ochoa Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Ochoa thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ochoa connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Randall some visible discomfort.

Ochoa stands up and we're back to a striking position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ochoa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Randall, pushing him back against the cage.
Ochoa wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ochoa gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Randall.

Randall gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ochoa to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Ochoa decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Randall tries to bum rush Ochoa with a series of wild strikes but Ochoa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Ochoa counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Randall is lucky that one didn't land flush.
